About Authors Sonya Senkowsky & Amanda Coyne

Sonya Senkowsky has an MA in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is founder and editor of the Web sites AlaskaWriters.com and AlaskaScienceOutreach.com. Her writing has appeared in National Geographic Online, Scientific American and Alaska Magazine, among others. She lives in Anchorage, where she runs the writing and Web consulting business AlaskaWriter LLC.

Amanda Coyne has an MFA in creative nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa. Her work has appeared in Harper's Magazine, New York Times Magazine and New Republic online. She lives in Anchorage, where she teaches writing at Alaska Pacific University.
